Water and Sand

Every whisper is a sound
It's not the waves in the middle of the ocean
They call it an accident
They really do
Humaneness overdue

Water and sand
Setting sun
Risking everything
When desperation screams
"Somebody?
We're still in the sea
Not sure who's coming"
Losing everything
Isn't seeking a better life
Something of a human right?

Aren't these whispers like an alarm
Blaring out in the middle of our western un compassionate minds?
Because every child is our child
And all hope is a light
All hope should be a light
It's the white cliffs
It's the black waters in the dark
It's beauty of courage in the night
Where our compassion lies
