Shut the World Out

I was very insecure as a kid but I found a place
Inside myself where nobody could bully me, a haven
From that small-town mentality. A state of mind where
My emotions all were, and still are, something I didn't
Need to be ashamed of. I still go to that place every
Day and shut the world out, just shut it all out. It's what
Keeps me going on when I feel I'm not so strong at all.
It's what keeps me holding on when I'm weak enough to
Fall. Music lights a spark in me, finds the place where I
Can express myself and be heard. And when I'm there I
Can stay for hours.
